Finance Seminar by Valérie Plagnol, our Co-head for Strategy for Crédit Mutuel - CIC Securities

Valérie's recent finance seminar titled "Asia : Pulling the World Out of Recession" was overwhemingly well received and attended by clients and prospects in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Singapore.
She was also invited by Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry to give a breakfast session for their members.

Valérie gave an overview of the US Europe and focus on our appraisal of the situation and prospect in Asia especially on China. She believes loan infiltrated into real economy would bring Chinese economy to reach the bottom and recover by this summer. Global economic will shake off recession in a slow and painful way. While China may reach the bottom by mid 2009, Europe and America will have to wait till Q1 next year.

Ms Valérie Plagnol pointed out that although countries joining hands to deter the ‘financial tsunami’ and stimulate the market by massive cash injection, global economy would only show a soft recovery – meaning recession will still last for a while. She also thinks the current rebound in the stock market is only a bear market rally.
