10th Anniversary of CIC Investor Service, Hong Kong
  - 25 June 2011
CICIS Hong Kong, incorporated in 2001, celebrates its 10th anniversary on 25 June 2011 with a classical concert in sponsorship with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert was remarkably at its best performance with HKPO and its conductor, Edo De Waart, Piotr LLich Tchaikovsky and his world famous concerto in D major for volin and Ms Midori's soloist performance on a Guarnerius violin made in 1734.

Despite all the challenges and difficulties faced by the financial market during this decade, it was heartening to see so many clients and prospects attending along with the presence of our Head office management, Thierry Delarue , the French General Consul and the President of HKPO.

Private Banking Finance Seminar “ Seeking Opportunities in an uncertain world – Is Asia a better place to be” By Mr Graeme Maxton, Hong Kong
- 7 November 2011

CIC Banque Privée held its bi-annually Finance Seminar Series XII, a series of investment seminars for our clients and our prospects of Private Banking in Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong. We invited the renowned economist, Mr Graeme Maxton, as our guest speaker for the second time. He gave a lively, entertaining and insights on his new book “End of Progress – How modern economies have failed us?” He presented a synopsis of economic view, investment risks-slow growth in developed countries, debt burden and inflation risks in developing countries and the changes on China’s growth momentum. He described that the economies are on steroids with the massive influx of government cash injections and huge banks bailouts therefore supporting a recovery. However problems still exist as consumer debt is huge, banks are still in trouble and government debts are also huge and this is yet to be repaid. Another factor curtailing recovery is resources such as oil and other metals which will eventually run out. The role of China’s growth in the global economy and their slow down will affect global recovery. Mr Maxton also identified major investment opportunities in commodities-agricultural produce and energy, strong currencies and growth sectors in Asia namely elderly care, luxury goods, low cost producers, medical tourism. The seminar finished with a Q&A session and all guests were given a copy of the book “End of Progress” by courtesy of CIC before their departure.
